Zusammenfassung
Yves Barels Buch ist ein guter Vertreter des französischen Systemismus, der im Gefolge Edgar Morins um einen Platz zwischen Marxismus, Strukturalismus und Hermeneutik in der intellektuellen Landschaft Frankreichs der 70er und 80er Jahre gerungen hat. Die französische Systemtheorie, darin der Luhmann’schen ähnlich, will jenseits von Epistemologie und Ingenieurwissenschaft über die Verhältnisse in der Gesellschaft aufklären und analytische Beschreibungen leisten, die ihrer Komplexität gerecht werden. Für sie ist die Gesellschaft ein Gegenstand, den man nicht durchdringen, an dem man nicht viel verstehen kann, wenn man die systemtheoretischen Werkzeuge der Komplexitätsanalyse nicht zur Verfügung hat und sich ihrer bedient.
