Zusammenfassung
Der technische Fortschritt ist eine der treibenden Kräfte der Preisentwicklung und des Strukturwandels in der Landwirtschaft. In diesem Kapitel werden zunächst Definitionen und Klassifizierungen des technischen Fortschritts – z. B. in arbeitssparenden, neutralen und kapitalsparenden Fortschritten – präsentiert. Anschließend werden die Auswirkungen des technischen Fortschritts auf landwirtschaftliche Faktor- und Produktpreise in geschlossenen und offenen Volkswirtschaften erörtert. In dem letzten Abschnitt des Kapitels werden Methoden zur Messung des technischen Fortschritts und damit verbundene theoretische und empirische Herausforderungen thematisiert, und es werden ausgewählte Schätzungen der Rate des technischen Fortschritts aus der Literatur präsentiert.

Zur Erinnerung: Der Gewinn \(\pi = P_{Y} *Y - P_{X} *X.\) Die Bedingung erster Ordnung für den gewinnmaximierenden Faktoreinsatz eines Mengenanpassers ist \(\frac{\partial \pi }{{\partial X}} = P_{Y} *\frac{\partial Y}{{\partial X}} - P_{X} = 0\). Daraus folgt \(\frac{\partial Y}{{\partial X}} = \frac{{P_{X} }}{{P_{Y} }}\) bzw. Grenzproduktivität (die Steigung der Produktionsfunktion) gleich das Verhältnis Faktor- zu Produktpreis.
