Zusammenfassung
Neuere Erkenntnisse aus der psychologischen Forschung zur Denk- und Urteilsweise von ökonomischen Lai*innen können helfen, die ökonomische Bildung zu verbessern. Zunächst werden basierend auf psychologischen Theorien und empirischen Befunden implizite Theorien und Zerrbilder („Biases“) beschrieben, auf denen das Verständnis und die Beurteilung ökonomischer Zusammenhänge von Lai*innen basiert. Die Relevanz dieser Laientheorien und Heuristiken lässt sich empirisch durch systematische Bewertungsunterschiede zwischen Ökonom*innen und Nicht-Ökonom*innen bei wirtschaftspolitischen Maßnahmen – wie bei der Forderung nach Mindestlöhnen oder Einführung von Zöllen – nachweisen.
