Zusammenfassung
Hat Marketing seinen Stuhl am Vorstandstisch verloren? Die Praxis scheint diese These zu bestätigen. Es liegt vor allem daran, dass erstens Marketing oftmals nicht klar genug seine Grenzen zur Vertriebsfunktion definiert, und zweitens Marketing sich selbst die Rolle eines marktorientierten Führungskonzeptes (MOF-Konzept) zuweist. Dieser Beitrag beleuchtet beide Problemkreise und ergänzt die traditionellen Überlegungen durch eine neue These, nämlich dass Marketing im Sinne einer MOF in bestimmten Konfigurationen mit anderen inhaltlichen „Orientierungen“, wie z. B. Technologieorientierungen, erst seine Dominanz belegen kann. Unter Einsatz von konfigurierenden, ausgesuchten Methoden eröffnet sich dem Leser eine neue Perspektive.
