Auf der Suche nach der Sorge im Alter – der ‚globale‘ Süden als Notstopfen?

Care! Zum Verhältnis von Sorge und Sozialer Arbeit

Zusammenfassung

Der Aufsatz wendet sich globalen Verflechtungen der Sorge alter Menschen zu. Sie spannen sich vor dem Hintergrund sorgebezogener Begrenzungen in wirtschaftlich reicheren Ländern auf, die zu Mobilitätsprozessesn in wirtschaftlich  ärmere Länder führen. Konkret wird dies anhand von Mobilitätsprozessen beleuchtet, die alte Menschen aus deutschsprachigen Ländern nach Thailand führen und anhand von zwei empirischen Beispielen veranschaulicht. Zum einen geht es um Pflege- bzw Betreuungsmigrationen, zum anderen um Ruhestandmigrationen, die insbesondere mit der Suche nach Intim- bzw. Paarbeziehungen verbunden sind. Die Herausforderungen, die sich aus diesen globalen Verflechtungszusammenhängen für die Soziale Arbeit ergeben, werden dargelegt.

    Mit Ausnahme der Renten entfallen mit der Migration alle weiteren Leistungen aus dem deutschen Sicherungssystem, d. h. aus der gesetzlichen Krankenkasse, der Pflegeversicherung und der Sozialhilfe. Der Markt bietet zwar vielfältige Möglichkeiten an, um sich vor bestimmten Risiken abzusichern, insbesondere im Falle von Krankheit und bei eintretenden Pflegebedarfen in Thailand. Sie wurden aber aufgrund der damit verbundenen Kosten kaum als mögliche oder adäquate Option unserer Interviewpartner angesehen.
