t-Test, statistisches Modell für die Bestimmung von Konfidenzintervallen oder der Signifikanz von Unterschieden zwischen den Mittelwerten von Stichproben. Der t-T. findet Anwendung bei kleineren Stichproben (n 30), da hier die Stichprobenverteilung der Stichprobenmittelwerte nicht der Normalverteilung, sondern der t-Verteilung (auch Student-t-Verteilung) folgt, deren Streuung vom Stichprobenumfang abhängig ist. Bei größeren Stichproben kann auf den z-Test zurückgegriffen werden, der auf der standardisierten Normalverteilung (→ z-Transformation) beruht.
