Abstract
This chapter provides an updated review of cross-cultural research on stressor-strain relationships in the workplace. We organize studies with samples from a variety of nations around six common stressors: role stressors, workload, situational constraints, job control, social characteristics, and career concerns. We present conclusions on relationships between cultural values and stressors and offer suggestions for future multicultural research on employee stress and well-being.
