Angetrieben durch ihr Faible für die Musikrichtung Metal möchte Lisa für ein anstehendes Konzert bestimmen, zu welchem Genre die gespielten Werke gehören. Dies möchte sie mithilfe ihres Kumpels Computer-Crack Constantin automatisieren. Constantin erklärt ihr daraufhin das Prinzip von künstlichen neuronalen Netzen. Zunächst wird der Lernvorgang am Beispiel vom kleinsten Baustein eines neuronalen Netzes, einem Perzeptron, illustriert. Nachfolgend erforschen beide dann den Aufbau und die flexible Struktur größerer Netze und schaffen es Popmusik von Metalmusik zu unterscheiden.
