Zusammenfassung
Während Service Learning in den Vereinigten Staaten bereits seit Jahrzehnten zu einem etablierten Bildungsprogramm an Schulen und Hochschulen zählt, beginnt in Europa und zumal in Deutschland erst allmählich die Institutionalisierung. Entsprechend lässt sich auch der Forschungsstand differenzieren; ein Großteil der vorliegenden Studien stammt aus dem angelsächsischen Raum. Auffallend ist zudem, dass kaum Studien vorliegen, welche die kooperierenden Organisationen und mögliche Folgen aus der Teilnahme am Service Learning thematisieren.
