Zusammenfassung
Hochschulen müssen vermehrt Öffentlichkeitsarbeit betreiben, um in der Hochschullandschaft sichtbar zu sein. Der vorliegende Beitrag versteht Leitbilder als zentrales Instrument, mit dem eine Hochschule Selbstdarstellung betreibt und sich gegen andere Hochschulen im organisationalen Umfeld abgrenzt. Hochschulen sind Organisationen, die erst durch und in der Kommunikation entstehen, insofern schließt sich der Beitrag der Forschungstradition Communicative Constitution of Organization an. An zwei hochschulischen Leitbildern wird aufgezeigt, welche sprachlichen Charakteristika als Kernmerkmale diese Textsorte verstanden werden könne, und ob und inwiefern Raum für Variation besteht.
