Zusammenfassung
Die Analyse nicht-fiktionaler Filmformen hält spezifische methodologische Herausforderungen bereit. Aufgrund der weiten Verbreitung in und außerhalb des Kinos und der vielfältigen Verwendung in diversen institutionellen Kontexten sind nicht-fiktionale Formen eng verstrickt in mediale, soziale, politische, wirtschaftliche, wissenschaftliche und private Zusammenhänge. Deshalb greifen Analysen, die ausschließlich auf den Film als Text fokussieren, zu kurz. Wie die jüngere Forschung filmische Form und kontextuelle Faktoren analytisch verbindet, skizziert dieser Beitrag.
