Zusammenfassung
Unruly Practices ist keine Monografie sondern eine Sammlung von acht Aufsätzen, die zwischen 1981 und 1988 in den Zeitschriften Ethics, Praxis International, Salmasgundi, New German Critique und Hypathia erschienen waren. In diesen Beiträgen hatte sich Nancy Fraser (geb. 1947) in die lebhaften politik- und sozialtheoretischen Debatten, die die 1980er Jahre prägten, eingemischt und derart theoretisch gewappnet eine sozialistisch-feministische Kritische Theorie »spätkapitalistischen Politik«, vor allem wohlfahrtsstaatlicher Politik, entworfen. Fraser stellt sich selbst als »social theorist trained as a philosopher« vor, die in ihren Arbeiten von aktuellen Entwicklungen »in literary theory, feminist theory and cultural studies« (3) beeinflusst sei. Sie schreibe zudem als »democratic socialist« und »a feminist«. Die Idee multipler Situiertheit durchzieht Frasers Werk.
