Viele große und globale Firmen benötigen kurze Durchlaufzeiten für neue Konsum- und Wohlstandsgüter aller Art. Um diese Konsum- und Wohlstandsgüter großen Bevölkerungsschichten zu erschwinglichen Preisen zugänglich zu machen, sind gute Teams von Produktentwicklern als auch schnelle und flexible Werkzeugbaufirmen erforderlich. Die Durchlaufzeiten für Neu- und Prototyp-Werkzeuge von drei bis fünf Wochen, einschließlich CAD (Computer Aided Design)-Werkzeugkonstruktion, CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing) -Programmierung und CNC (Computer Numerical Controlled) Fertigung sind zum Stand der Technik geworden.
