Zusammenfassung
Die Diagnose der so genannten „Innovationsgesellschaft“ besitzt für die Konzeption eines Strategischen Marketings weitreichende Auswirkungen. Fortgeschrittene gesellschaftliche Individualisierung und ubiquitär vorzufindende Anstrengungen hinsichtlich und Rhetorik über Innovation erfordern von Unternehmen andere Denkkategorien und andere analytische Mittel, um Marktpotentiale zu erschließen sowie Unterscheidungskraft im Wettbewerb herzustellen und zu verstetigen. Ausgehend von einer Rekonstruktion der (Fehl-)Entwicklung Strategischen Marketings entwirft dieser Beitrag einen Bezugsrahmen für unternehmerisches Handeln unter den verschärften Bedingungen einer „Innovationsgesellschaft“. Er zeigt, welche Leitmetaphorik in diesem Zusammenhang zielführend ist und welche – bislang wenig genutzten – Datenquellen sie nahe legt.
