Abstract
Unternehmen der produzierenden Industrie sind sehr oft nur auf Produktinnovation fokussiert. Sie sind, übertrieben gesagt, auf der Suche nach dem Produkt, das sich von selbst verkauft. Prozessinnovation wird aufgrund des mitunter sehr großen Kostendrucks ebenfalls gelebt und gelegentlich denkt man an neue Services, die einen Mehrwert für den Kunden schaffen. Je nach Produktlebenszyklen und Wettbewerbssituation ist so mehr oder weniger Innovation gefragt. Dass Innovation aber in allen Bereichen des Geschäftsmodells möglich ist, wird häufig übersehen. Innovative Geschäftsmodelle können einen größeren Beitrag zum Wettbewerbsvorteil leisten, als Innovationen im Produkt- und Servicebereich.
