Zusammenfassung
Die solarthermische Stromerzeugung basiert grundsätzlich auf der Absorption von Sonnenenergie durch ein Arbeitsmedium. Das hierdurch erhitzte Arbeitsmedium wird anschließend zum Antrieb eines thermodynamischen Arbeitsprozesses genutzt und somit elektrische Energie erzeugt. Kurz gesagt, entspricht ein solarthermisches Kraftwerk einem konventionellen Kraftwerk mit dem Unterschied, dass die benötigte Wärme zum Kraftwerksbetrieb aus konzentrierter Solarstrahlung gewonnen wird. In technischer Hinsicht zeichnet sich die solarthermische Stromerzeugung durch folgende Merkmale aus:
- hohe Wirkungsgrade bis über 20% möglich,
- bedarfsgerechte Stromerzeugung durch kostengünstige Integration von hocheffizienten thermischen Speichern und
- gesicherte Kapazität durch optionale Hybridisierung mittels Zusatzfeuerung.
