B. Kathleen Williams in ihrer Analyse (2009): „The recut trailer is placed as the nexus in a series of links, in which the studio system is subverted while also being directly engaged with and utilised”. In einem ähnlichen Zusammenhang beschrieb Lucas Hilderbrand in seiner Studie zu YouTube diese Trailer als „one of the most popular forms of fan subversion in the age of digital video” (Hilderbrand 2007, 52).
