Zusammenfassung

Ausgehend vom gegenwärtigen Paradox der Über- und Unterernährung geht der Beitrag den strukturellen Momenten im Agrar- und Ernährungssystem im Zeitalter der Globalisierung nach. Er skizziert die Grundzüge des britisch zentrierten Nahrungsregimes (extensive food regime) von den 1870er- bis zu den 1920er-Jahren, des US-zentrierten Nahrungsregimes (intensive food regime) von den 1940er- bis zu den 1970er-Jahren und des WTO-zentrierten Nahrungsregimes (corporate food regime) seit den 1990er-Jahren. Schließlich umreißt er Strategien – neoliberalistische, reformistische, progressive und radikale – des agroindustriellen Ausbaus bzw. sozial- und umweltverträglichen Umbaus des globalen Agrar- und Ernährungssystems.
