Zusammenfassung

Ausgehend von einem Grundverständnis kognitiver Systeme wird soziale Kognition als die Gruppe der kognitiven Prozesse behandelt, die sich mit den Leistungen der Selbst-Fremd-Differenzierung und des Selbst-Fremd-Austauschs befassen und die der Interaktion und Kommunikation mit anderen Menschen dienen. Die Debatte zur sozialen Kognition wird am Problem des Fremdverstehens in philosophischer Perspektive entwickelt und mit einigen relevanten neurowissenschaftlichen Befunden korreliert. Die These ist, dass auf der Basis der Fortschritte in den Neurowissenschaften von einer (Wieder-)Entdeckung des Sozialen gesprochen werden kann. Es zeigt sich, dass die Fähigkeiten, die uns zur Interaktion und Kommunikation mit anderen befähigen, zu den wesentlichen menschlichen Ausstattungsmerkmalen zu gehören scheinen. Die interdisziplinäre Erforschung dieses Phänomenbereichs im Zusammenspiel der Kognitionswissenschaften mit Philosophie, Psychologie und Neurowissenschaft eröffnet eine neue Perspektive für eine zeitgemäße interdisziplinäre Anthropologie.
