Krieg konnten sie alle: Franzosen und Deutsche, Spanier, Holländer und Schweden. 30 Jahre lang. Angestachelt durch den Hass der Konfessionen, angetrieben von Machthunger. Doch weil keiner siegen konnte, mussten sie verhandeln – und trafen sich in Münster und Osnabrück zu einem gigantischen Kongress. Das war neu und dauerte, doch am Ende stand ein grundsolider dauerhafter Frieden. Wie schafften die das? Ein Kongress, der fast aussichtslos begann und ein voller Erfolg wurde.
