Zusammenfassung
Im Zeitalter der Medialisierung und Digitalisierung sind die Herausforderungen an das Kommunikationsmanagement größer denn je. Es gilt, mit zahlreichen Stakeholdern über immer mehr Kanäle und Plattformen in Kontakt zu bleiben, unterschiedlichste Geschäftsziele zu unterstützen und Handlungsspielräume des Unternehmens im Widerstreit gesellschaftlicher Interessen sicherzustellen. Um die notwendigen Maßnahmen gezielt analysieren, planen, umsetzen und kontrollieren zu können, kommen Managementtools zum Einsatz. Darunter versteht man Denkwerkzeuge, Konzepte, Methoden, Vorgehensweisen und Standardprozesse, die die Steuerung der Unternehmenskommunikation strukturieren, systematisieren und visualisieren. Die Entwicklung und Bereitstellung solcher Tools und daraus aufgebauter Toolboxen ist in Kommunikationsabteilungen und -agenturen noch wenig verbreitet. Der Ausbau entsprechenden Know-hows ermöglicht es, mit knappen Ressourcen und in agilen Strukturen effektiv zu arbeiten. Zugleich erhöht die Nutzung von Tools die Anschlussfähigkeit an das Top-Management, Strategieabteilungen und an Unternehmensberatungen, in denen diese seit langem eingesetzt werden. Der Beitrag führt in das Thema ein, skizziert empirische Erkenntnisse und benennt Erfolgsfaktoren für den Einsatz von Managementtools in der Unternehmenskommunikation.
