Zusammenfassung

Internationale Politische Ökonomie erschließt sich nicht in der Kombination von Ökonomie und Politik oder der Rückkehr zum klassischen Ansatz der politischen Ökonomie: „The real achievement of IPE was not to bring in economics [into political sciences], but to open up a critical investigation into change in historical structures“ (Cox 2002: 79). Im vorliegenden Kapitel soll diese Entwicklung anhand der Ausdifferenzierung klassischer Sozialwissenschaften in verschiedene, voneinander getrennte akademische Disziplinen – beginnend mit der Trennung von Ökonomie und Soziologie – verdeutlicht werden.
