Migration und ethnische Ungleichheit auf dem Arbeitsmarkt

Zusammenfassung

Empirische Befunde zeigen, dass Migranten und ihre Nachkommen auf dem deutschen Arbeitsmarkt größtenteils weniger erfolgreich sind als Deutsche ohne Migrationshintergrund. Diese Ergebnisse werfen zentrale Fragen für die Arbeitsmarktforschung auf: Wie lässt sich die geringere Arbeitsmarktintegration von Migranten erklären? Wie lassen sich zudem unterschiedliche Erfolge zwischen verschiedenen Migrantengruppen erklären? Wie stabil sind solche ethnischen Ungleichheiten langfristig? Das Kapitel behandelt diese Fragen, indem zuerst die wesentlichen theoretischen Argumente und Mechanismen vorgestellt werden. Anschließend geht es auf die entsprechenden empirischen Ergebnisse ein.
