Zusammenfassung
Die Entwicklung der Energieeffizienz einer Volkswirtschaft oder einzelner Sektoren wird in erster Linie anhand von zwei Indikatoren bewertet, der Energieintensität und -produktivität [UBA 2012 b]. Die Energieproduktivität (EP) beschreibt die wirtschaftliche Leistung pro Einheit Primär- oder Endenergie. Ihr Kehrwert, die Energieintensität (EI), drückt aus wie viele Einheiten Primärenergie benötigt werden um eine Geldeinheit des Bruttoinlandprodukts (BIP) herzustellen.
