Zusammenfassung

Chronische neuropathische Schmerzen sind in der klinischen Praxis häufig. Sie stellen eine großes ökonomisches Problem im Gesundheitswesen dar und führen meist zu einem enormen Leidensdruck der Patienten. Die Prävalenz neuropathischer Schmerzen in der Bevölkerung liegt bei ca. 5 %. Die Therapie sollte, wenn möglich, kausal erfolgen. Häufig ist jedoch eine Pharmakotherapie notwendig.
