Das Pankreasorgan besitzt eine große Reservekapazität. Eine Pankreasinsuffizienz tritt erst auf, wenn die Trypsinaktivität im Pankreasstimulationstest unter 5%, die Aktivitäten von Kolipase und Lipase unter 1–2% der Werte gesunder Kontrollpersonen abgefallen sind.
