Zusammenfassung
Noch vor wenigen Jahren gehörte Alec zu den Jungen in der Klasse, die beim Fußballspielen eher spät gewählt wurden – heute ist er einer der Leistungsträger seiner Wasserballmannschaft (◘ Abb. 8.1). Dazwischen lag einiges: der mit dem Umzug der Eltern verbundene Wechsel auf die neue Schule mit dem motivierenden Sportlehrer, das private Üben im Freibad mit der Oma, die früher selbst einmal Leistungsschwimmerin war, die Probetrainingsphase im Handballclub, in dem allerdings keine Mannschaft seiner Altersklasse zum Spielbetrieb gemeldet war, und der Wachstumsschub, der den vorübergehend fast etwas dicklichen Vorpubertierenden zu dem schlank hochaufgeschossenen Jugendlichen hat werden lassen, der er jetzt ist. Ganz allgemein hat Alec derweil den Sport für sich entdeckt. In der Schule spielt er in der Volleyball- und Unihockey-AG mit, trifft sich mit Freunden zweimal in der Woche noch vor Schulbeginn zum Dauerlaufen, und das Vereinstraining besucht er gewissenhaft und mit Begeisterung. Beim Wasserball profitiert er nicht nur von seiner Körperlänge, sondern auch von den zuvor im Schwimmen und Handballspiel gesammelten Erfahrungen. Gerne stellt er sich vor, später einmal auch in der Herrenmannschaft eine tragende Rolle zu spielen – wir können gespannt sein, wie weit Alec es im Sport noch bringen wird.
