Zusammenfassung
Das Verständnis der Laser-Gewebe-Wirkungen und der optimale Gebrauch des Lasers ist der wichtigste Hinweis in diesem Kapitel. Die wellenlängenabhängige Eindringtiefe des Laserlichts in das Gewebe bestimmt die Wärmeentwicklung und die Nekrosezone. Das Konzept der Photothermolyse, das von Rox Anderson eingeführt wurde, verbesserte die Spezifität der Laserwirkungen. Thermische Laser werden zur Gewebekoagulation und zur Verdampfung (Schneiden) von Gewebe eingesetzt. Für die Gewebeablation sind eine hohe Absorption des Laserlichts durch das Gewebe und eine hohe Leistungsdichte des Laserpulses (>100 k W/cm2) erforderlich. Es ist zu bedenken, dass je kürzer der Laserpuls oder die Laserstrahlung am gleichen Ort ist, desto kleiner die Nekrosezone sein wird. Bei kurzen und ultrakurzen Laserpulsen ist an mögliche akustische Nebeneffekte zu denken.
