Zusammenfassung
Probleme mit der Zahlenverarbeitung und/oder dem Rechnen treten sowohl als sog. erworbene Rechenstörungen (Akalkulie) als auch in Form von entwicklungsbedingten Rechenstörungen auf (Entwicklungsdyskalkulie). Bei Akalkulie können infolge einer erworbenen Hirnschädigung (z. B. aufgrund eines Schlaganfalles, Schädel-Hirn-Traumas oder Hirntumors) auch Erwachsene mit zuvor guten arithmetischen Fähigkeiten spezifische Defizite beim Rechnen entwickeln. Die neurokognitiven Grundlagen von Akalkulie werden in diesem Kapitel erläutert und neuronale Plastizität, die etwaigen Rehabilitationserfolgen unterliegt, diskutiert.
