Zusammenfassung
Zur Sicherstellung ihrer Wettbewerbsfähigkeit sind Industrieunternehmen gezwungen, in immer kürzeren Abständen neue Produkte am Markt anzubieten. Dabei sind die vom Markt geforderten Produkte zunehmend individueller und enthalten in steigendem Maße softwarebasierte Anteile. Damit sinken die Zeiten, die den Unternehmen für die Entwicklung und Realisierung von Produkten und Produktionssystemen zur Verfügung stehen, bei steigender Komplexität und Multidisziplinarität des Produkts und seiner Entstehung. Ein wesentlicher Ansatz zur Verkürzung der Zeiten für die Produktentstehung und zur Beschleunigung der Reife des Produkts ist der Einsatz softwarebasierter Werkzeuge in der Produktentstehung auf der Grundlage durchgängiger Informationsflüsse.
