Zusammenfassung

Emotionen sind Aristoteles zufolge körperlich-seelische Widerfahrnisse. Sie werden phänomenal als lust- oder schmerzhaft erlebt, sind intentional auf Gegenstände gerichtet und hängen auf vielfältige Weise mit Vorstellungen, Bewertungen und Strebungen zusammen. Emotionen spielen in vielen Bereichen der aristotelischen Philosophie eine wichtige Rolle. So wird in den ethischen Schriften (s. Kap. III.19) der Beitrag der Emotionen zum guten Leben (s. Kap. IV.38) diskutiert.
