Zussamenfassung
Im Ozean hat sich das Leben auf der Erde entwickelt. Auch heute prägt der Ozean auf vielfältige Weise das Leben der Menschen, und die Zukunft der Menschheit hängt auch von ihrem Umgang mit dem Ozean ab. Der Ozean bedeckt 70 % der Erdoberfläche und beherbergt das größte zusammenhängende Ökosystem der Erde mit einem zum Teil noch unbekannten Reichtum an biologischer Vielfalt.
