Zussamenfassung
Lust (hedonê) dient Platon als generischer Begriff zur Bezeichnung jeder Art von positiver Erfahrung (Wahrnehmungen, Affekte, Einsichten). Entsprechendes gilt auch für den Gegenbegriff von Schmerz oder Unlust (lypê). Hedonê ist daher mit Lust, Freude, Vergnügen, Annehmlichkeit etc. wiederzugeben (vgl. Philebos 11b). Platons Behandlung und Bewertung der Lust, sofern er sie explizit thematisiert und nicht nur beiläufig erwähnt, lässt sich in drei Phasen einteilen, die in etwa der herkömmlichen Einteilung seiner Werke in Früh-, Mittel-, und Spätdialoge entspricht (s. Kap. V, bes. Kap. V.38).
