Zusammenfassung
Mit der antiken Gymnastik und Athletik hat sich Michel Foucault durchaus beschäftigt (VL 1981/1982), doch zum modernen Sport äußerte sich der Philosoph nicht. Die Sportwissenschaft hingegen begann seit Ende der 1980er Jahre zunehmend, das Instrumentarium von Foucault aufzugreifen, um ein neues Verständnis für die Zusammenhänge von Mensch, Raum, Körper, Geschlecht, Bewegung, Spiel und Sport zu gewinnen.
