Abstract
In this short introduction, the section “Mathematics, Art, and Aesthetics” of the Handbook of the Mathematics of the Arts and Sciences is discussed. In particular, the interplay of mathematics, art, and aesthetics is examined in relation to the connections between these disciplines.
