Abstract
Migration policy and debate are increasingly framed through the lens of national security, and, by extension, migrants and refugees are increasingly portrayed and perceived as criminal. Not only is this morally concerning and evidentially unsubstantiated; it threatens to erode the raft of protections afforded to migrants and refugees under international and domestic laws.
