Abstract
This paper provides support for the "Wheel of Re-tailing" concept in the field of grocery (supermarket) retailing. Past and current trends are described. Because of changes in so many areas of the supermarket industry, ‘capsule’ summaries are provided for each. However, the paper is heavily documented and provides the reader with sources for further investigation.
