Abstract
This entry explores the ethical meanings of the concept of biopiracy, linked to topics such as intellectual property rights on genetic resources, bioprospecting, traditional knowledge, right to food, and food policy. It highlights the critical function of biopiracy related to worldwide tendencies: privatization and technification.
