Abstract

Theodore Gaza was a fifteenth-century Byzantine scholar and translator. He was highly respected as an expert on Aristotle. His work influenced Renaissance and early modern scholars interested in Aristotle’s biological works. Gaza introduced a new method of translating and editing ancient texts which influenced translators and editors. He was associated with some of the most famous and influential Italians.
