Reliability and Statistics in Transportation and Communication (RelStat 2023)

Abstract

One of the ways to improve the quality of the educational process is to utilize students’ feedback on educational programs, the learning process. However, conventional questionnaires often lack reliability, limiting their utility for comparative analyses with data from other educational institutions. This article presents the development and validation of the Student Academic Satisfaction Scale (SASS), which allows the assessment of overall student satisfaction and the identification of nine aspects related to learning outcomes, the study process, teaching, academic support, etc. Furthermore, it facilitates the comparison of survey results among students in different educational programs, forms of studies, and academic years. Based on the research conducted by the author over the past three years (2021–2023), involving 657 participants within the context of the Transport and Telecommunication Institute (TSI), the SASS demonstrates sufficient reliability and internal consistency. The author expects SASS to become a useful tool for educational institutions, aiding them in improving the study process and educational programs.
