Abstract

Negative global phenomena, such as pandemics, armed conflicts, economic crises, or natural disasters are causing significant damage to the industry. However, at the same time, they are also forcing the acceleration of the development of selected areas of the economy. In this race, the key will be to implement innovations that will give individual entities a competitive advantage. In order to increase the level of innovation in the construction sector, it is neces-sary to stop treating it as a typical industry branch and to set requirements specific to the modern technology sector. Requirements for potential ideas and solutions should be closely related to the features that characterize the modern technology sector. In the article, the authors take up the subject of the implementation of the concept of Construction 4.0 in Poland - the current status, new possibilities, barriers and limitations, applications, and future research opportunities are presented.
