Abstract
This book deals with the topic of academic and educational entrepreneurship, and it is based upon the holistic conceptual framework developed by Eklund and Wanzenried (2020). It aims to introduce foundational knowledge, concepts, and theories of academic and educational entrepreneurship, and then support it with the practical cases and experiences of academic and educational entrepreneurs. Accordingly, in the first part of the book, the theoretical foundations, including the existing literature and theories related to the topic, are set out. As represented by the holistic conceptual framework developed by/of Eklund and Wanzenried (2020), seven aspects are required to lead an educational and an academic entrepreneur to success, namely, (1) sustainability, (2) financial, (3) political and economic, (4) international and cultural, (5) individual and contextual, (6) intellectual, and (7) technological aspects. In the second part, concrete practical cases, first from academic entrepreneurship, and then from educational entrepreneurship, were presented and discussed.
