Abstract
The assessment of the efficacy of the use of the preparation based on recombinant IFN-λ for the correction of the immune status was carried out on hypotrophic calves. There were formed 3 groups of animals: No. I - hypotrophic calves, that were subcutaneously administered the preparation of recombinant IFN-λ three times on days 1, 3 and 60 at a dose of 1 ml per 10 kg of animal body weight (n = 10); No. II - hypotrophic calves (n = 10) and No. III - normotrophic calves (n = 10). To study the indicators of the immune status of six calves from each group on the first day after birth (baseline), on days 7, 30 of life and 5–10 days after transfer to the nursery groups, the blood was obtained for laboratory studies. In the animals that were administered the preparation based on recombinant IFN-λ, serum bactericidal activity was higher by 23.6, 6.3 and 8.2% on days 7, 30 and 60 of life in comparison with the calves of group No. II; complementary - by 77.0, 30.1 and 34.2%, lysozyme - by 29.5, 23.3 and 20.5%. The amount of total immunoglobulins in all periods of the study was by 2.6 times higher in group No. I relative to those in the hypotrophic calves of group No. II. In contrast to the control, phagocytic index during these periods was higher than that of the hypotrophic calves. In the animals that were administered IFN-λ, a more pronounced absorption capacity of neutrophils was recorded in comparison with the hypotrophic calves.
