Abstract

With the growing environmental problems ranging from deforestation to climate change, environmental education has become instrumental in inculcating citizens to contribute towards reducing the impacts of environmental destruction by undergoing various nature conservation efforts from the micro to macro level. While formal environmental education cannot always be relied upon to educate citizens, the role of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in providing environmental education to the public is becoming more salient. Thus, the present article highlights and discusses the diverse pathways available in making the public more environmentally conscious about environmental destruction.
