Abstract
Life satisfaction is seen as a cognitive dimension that represents the global psychological balance that each one of us makes of our life. This construct can affect and be affected. Our study focuses on dimensions of work.
This study analyses the relationship between life satisfaction (LS) and engagement and burnout. It is developed to associate positively engagement with LS and negatively to burnout. It is applied to higher education teachers in Portugal and developed using a model of structural equations with partial least squares estimation.
The results of our study are in line with the hypotheses and with the studies analyzed. The literature allowed us to conclude that engagement and burnout are predictors of LS. Our research indicates that this relationship is negative and significant at the level of burnout and positive and significant concerning engagement, thus validating our hypotheses. The variance explained by the model is good (0,307); the Q2 is 0,233 attributing a predictor relevance to the model.
