Abstract
In recent years, countries facing an aging population have been reviewing their long-term care structures and policies. Their goal is to develop a social and health care system that meets the needs, expectations, capabilities, but also challenges. Romania is one of these countries, investing in policies, measures and services. However, the challenges are significant at the level of institutional collaboration for integrated policies and services, at the level of current and future funding. This chapter analyse structural, financial, institutional and legislative challenges from recent documents, researches and analysis, opinions of specialists in the field of long-term health care. The author makes proposals for future policies, for legislative acts dedicated to long-term care, for working mechanisms between institutions and fields and for current and future funding mechanisms. The opportunity of these proposals will be gradually challenged by next years.
