Abstract

This chapter is about axiology and normativity in global models of sustainability. Based on a short epistemological and historical inquiry into forecasting and backcasting global models, and prominent examples of them, the argument is about the need for more normative, yet transparent, models of sustainable development in future sustainability science and research.
