Abstract
By its very nature dance-form has a transitory quality. In the same way, as theatre and the other performing arts, a dance sequence exists at the very moment in which it is performed and will never be identical in subsequent performances. It is the fate of the performing arts, which only exist in the ephemeral dimension of the “here and now”, and the form of which depends on the surrounding circumstances, the relationships among the performers and between them and the spectator (the general public), as well as the quality and the (occasional) particularities of the performers (see improvisation).
