Abstract
Surgery of the lacrimal drainage system generally focuses on correcting or bypassing obstruction in the flow of tears from the eye to the nose. Lid malposition such as ectropion and lid retraction is corrected, and sources of obstruction such as ocular surface neoplasms and conjunctivochalasis are removed. After a systematic evaluation of the lacrimal outflow system is performed, surgical intervention is directed to the affected area.
