ICT in Higher Education and Its Relation to the Violation of Copyright and Intellectual Property

Abstract

Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) have given rise to increased access to information enrich and transform education, however, it must be noted that this advance has also somehow generated conflicts for behavior unethical students by violating the rights to intellectual property through plagiarism. So this article is designed to investigate one of the problems related to the anti-ethical use of ICT, such as academic plagiarism, in this way sow interest on the subject, relieve its importance and contribute to strategies that raise the quality academic diminishing these acts contrary to the ethical codes and legal regulations. The methodology is quantitative; Processing is done from three sources: student surveys, teachers and analysis of academic work. In conclusion, it can be said that Tics have a direct relationship with the practice of academic plagiarism and the violation of copyright is a generalized issue as a daily practice of students, with a very high ethical impact in the educational field.
